PHARMACEUTICAL PROPERTIES
The TMP-SDZ association is known for its synergistic effects against many pathogenic germs. This synergy results in a broadening of the spectrum which includes germs insensitive to the two products taken separately, a powerful bactericidal activity, while the two products are bacteriostatic, a weak appearance of resistant germs. The two antibacterials TMP and sulfadiazine have fairly similar pharmacokinetic properties: good digestive absorption and good tissue diffusion.
