COMPOSITION:
- Lentogenic live virus of Newcastle disease,
Hitchner B1 strain : at least 106.0 EID50 / Dose
Excipients : 1 dose.
SPECIES CONCERNED:
Turkey and chicken species (broiler, future breeding and laying pullets).
PHARMACEUTICAL PROPERTIES
Newcastle disease is an infectious disease, very contagious, caused by a paramyxovirus, a very resistant haemagglutinating agent in the outside environment, reaching gallinaceous animals, in humans it can cause conjunctivitis.
The only means of combating and controlling this disease is vaccination of birds with live and inactivated virus vaccines.
ATLAVAC HB1, is a freeze-dried live virus vaccine against Newcastle disease obtained by culture on embryonated chicken eggs SPF 10 + 1 day. The minimum content of each vaccine dose is 106.0 EID50 of the Hitchner B1 strain of Newcastle disease virus.
The vaccine induces the high production of specific antibodies against Newcastle disease The installation of immunity depends on the subjects vaccinated and their state of health at the time of the intervention. The presence of a high level of maternal antibodies can hinder the taking of the vaccine.
THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS:
Active immunization of chickens and turkeys against Newcastle disease.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Sick animals should be excluded from vaccination.
ADMINISTRATION AND POSOPLOGY:
Administer a dose of at least 106.0 DIO50 per bird, from the 1st day of age.
- since live vaccines against Newcastle disease should interest the ocular or nasal mucous membranes, the best method remains individual vaccination, but for economic and practical reasons, mass vaccination procedures are most often implemented. - The vaccine is administered by intranasal or intraocular route. It can also be administered by incorporation into drinking water or by spray vaccination (aerosol). Healthy chicks can be vaccinated from the 1st day of age with booster vaccinations at the 3rd or 4th week.
Individual vaccination procedures: To re-solution the vaccine, introduce 2 ml of mineral water into the bottle containing 1000 doses of lyophilized vaccine using a syringe fitted with a needle. As soon as the vaccine is completely dissolved, shake gently to homogenize, then take all the liquid and put it back into solution in a bottle containing 50 ml of mineral water. Repeat the same operation once in order to recover the vaccine which remains in the vial and in the syringe used for the transfer, the solubilized vaccine is then ready for use. • Intranasal route by soaking the beak of birds Reconstitute the vaccine in 50 ml of mineral water in a wide-necked bottle. Soak the beak to the nostrils so that the vaccine solution enters the nasal passages.
• Ocular route: Rehydrate the bottle of 1000 doses of vaccine in 100 ml of distilled water. Use a dropper nipple washed and sterilized in boiling water for 10 min. Using the dropper teat, place a drop of vaccine suspension on the eyeball, wait until the drop spreads properly.
Mass vaccination procedure
• Oral route by incorporation into drinking water: Reconstitute the vaccine in fresh, clean water without traces of chlorine or any other disinfectant. The number of vaccine doses will be determined according to the number of birds to be vaccinated; taking takes one to two hours after the preparation of the vaccine suspension. To ensure the effective watering of all birds in 2 hours, thirst by removing the drinking water 2-3 hours before vaccination.
• Airway by nebulization: Use a spraying device allowing to obtain a particle size of the droplets of 30-100 µm. Rehydrate the bottle of 1000 doses of the vaccine in 150-200 ml of distilled water depending on the age of the birds. Before carrying out the vaccination, it is recommended to group the birds on a relatively small area and to switch off the ventilation system for a short time. Spray the vaccine directly on birds if they are kept in cages.
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR USE:
Vaccinate only healthy birds. The vaccine virus can spread to unvaccinated birds. Avoid vaccinating contact or neighboring farms with unvaccinated animals.
USE DURING THE LAYING PERIOD:
The vaccine is not indicated during the laying period.
OVERDOSAGE
(SYMPTOMS, CONDUCT OF EMERGENCY, ANTIDOTES) IF NECESSARY: No adverse effects have been observed after administration of 10 times the dose of vaccine.
POTENTIAL DRUG INTERACTIONS:
No information is available on the safety and efficacy of the combination of this vaccine with another veterinary medicinal product. Consequently, the decision to use this vaccine before or after another veterinary medicinal product must be made on a case-by-case basis.
SIDE EFFECTS:
The vaccine used according to the recommended instructions has no side effects
SPECIAL STORAGE CONDITIONS:
Store and transport the vaccine at a temperature between + 2 ° C and + 8 ° C, protect from light.
Do not freeze
